The Comb Crested Jacana, Irediparra gallinacea, is a local bird to Cairns. This Jacana lives at the local Cattana Wetlands habitat in the Northern Cairns suburbs. It is 23 cm from beak to tail. Its long toes help it wander safely across the lily pads without sinking.
